As anyone who reads design blogs knows, the work of Atlanta designer Suzanne Kasler is widely extolled and discussed throughout the blogging world. She was first brought to my attention by one of her hometown admirers, Things that Inspire.
Things that Inspire, who is quite a student of dining room decor posted this gorgeous picture from Traditional Home which showcases some of Kasler's strengths as a designer: her skillful combination of traditional and more modern pieces, the way she uses a mix of soft colors to create fresh and elegant environments, and her use of symmetry to provide the elegant feeling of calm and balance within the room.
I love the fresh, modern elegance and confident use of the color pink in this room, also from Things that Inspire. Of course, my eye is also drawn to the curvy, playful lined, yet traditional chandelier and sconces seen here.
Suzanne is so popular among bloggers, that Joni at Cote de Texas has even named her as Number 8 in her widely read and anticipated feature on her Top Ten Designers! The gorgeous room above, from Cote de Texas leaves little question as to how this decorator has become so popular.
In fact, Joni says that Suzanne has "blazed her trail through the Interior Design world" and has her work published at a dizzying rate. Joni says, "Young and vibrant, Kasler's designs are as colorful and full of life as she is." I love the ethereal blue color of this dining room, the finely slipcovered chairs and the graceful chandelier.
More from Cote de Texas. I'm loving the beautiful black screen and the balanced composition of the sofa and bench/ottomans placed in the intimate seating corner of this room.
Another admirer of Suzanne is Patricia Gray, who comments of the designers outstanding use of black and white.
The Peak of Chic featured this picture showing a very fabulous piece from Suzanne Kasler's new line of furniture which she has designed for Hickory Chair.
This quatrefoil shape which she has expertly incorporated into the back of the chair is a perfect example of Kasler's deft use of classic historic forms with an updated appeal.
In Suzanne Kasler, Hickory Chair has found just the person to provide them with furniture designed for today's fabulous home. In her expert hands, the designs are modern with a lasting elegance drawn from classic lines, shapes and colors. These pieces are made to travel through a lifetime of homes and decors.
Inspired by antique French chair designs, this lines of this chair cleaned up and simplified to sublime effect.
More French influence, shown in soft easy modern colors and sumptuous fabrics.
This is such a now interpretation of Chippendale lines. It's so clean and fresh and mixes easily. I love the light painted wood.
There is nothing cleaner lined and more attractive than this armless sofa. The attention to detail is beautiful.
Like so many other bloggers, I have become a fan!
So I guess you can imagine how excited I am to have received this invitation from my friend Jim Smith of Dixon Smith Interiors in Baton Rouge.
Yes, I've been invited to Jim's wonderful Interior Design Showroom to meet the designer herself, and I'm thrilled.
Dixon Smith Interiors is The Place to Go in Baton Rouge for full service Interior Design. They have a talented staff of designers who create beautiful interiors for their clients.
I'm very happy to say that they carry Julie Neill Lighting.
I'm really looking forward to meeting Suzanne.
I'll let you know all about it! Stay tuned!

How exciting for you! I saw Suzanne a few years ago when I atteded a seminar at the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center but I didn't get to meet her. I love her work. Also, thanks for coming over and commenting on my blog. I responded there that you introduced me to the blog world after I googled "Gerrie Bremermann". Now I'm hooked!
I had the pleasure of meeting Suzanne at a very small, intimate dinner party that my neighbor hosted over the holidays (she is a good friend of Suzanne). Suzanne and I chatted about art and architecture for almost an hour - it was certainly one of the highlights of my year! She is a lovely, down to earth woman, and I am sure that you will enjoy meeting her. She is not a reader of blogs, alas, although I did tell her that the design blog community loves her work!
Last year someone found my blog by doing a search on 'casual elegant design Atlanta'. The reader was moving to Atlanta, and asked if I had any designers to recommend that embodied the look and feel of the designs I feature on my blog. I recommended a few designers, including Suzanne Kasler (not knowing the readers' budget), and she ended up selecting Suzanne to do the interiors on her house! Lucky, lucky lady. I hope to see the final result in a few months! That would be the best finders fee for me.
Dixon Smith looks like my kind of place! I love the pillows on the Kasler bed.
Did I notice on Amazon -- that she has a decor book coming out in October -- in time for the Season? I believe it is called "Suzanne Kasler: Inspired Interiors" Please could you ask her about it? Tell her that she has MANY fans on the Blogosphere!

Beautiful post. She is an excellent designer and deserves the accolades. Have fun!
Julie, make sure to show her the sconces that we designed for my front hall - she had some similar sconces (reproduction) in a recent Christmas showhouse, it is a style she loves, but they weren't nearly as beautiful as the sconces you made for me.
I am wrecked with jealousy!!!!!! I would give my left eyebrow to meet her in the flesh!!!! you are so fortunate, Julie!
